Welcome!
Child & Youth Clinical Counselling
We work with child, youth and teen clients from a variety of backgrounds to assist in the relief and recovery from anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, or other stress-related disorders and mental health concerns. Treatment is grounded in neurobiology, attachment, play therapies, and is empirically studied.
Parent Support Counselling
Individual sessions for parents of children coping with behavioural challenges. Our main objective is to provide parents with necessary skills and strategies to enhance their caregiving abilities and support their children's social and emotional development.
Separation, Divorce & Co-parenting Counselling
Sessions for parents and families (married, separated, divorced) can be tailored to your specific needs and situation. Topics can include support and education in: effective communication skills, navigating family dynamics, co-parenting tactics, education and support with how separation and early childhood experiences affect your children and their development, and/or the impacts separation can impact children at different ages and developmental stages
Family Counselling
We work collaboratively with families facing behavioural challenges to provide strategies that align with their values. Family counselling can help achieve a more peaceful home life. While individual therapy focuses on one person’s personal challenges, family therapy focuses on the entire family unit and its struggles.
Couples Counselling
Our goal in working with couples is to assist with research-based , structured interventions to strengthen a couples’ relationship. Session aim to explore each partner’s inner-world, reduce reactivity, strengthen communication and trust. We focus on repair and reconnection, empathy building, recognizing triggers and emotional regulation.
Individual Adult Counselling
Individual counselling sessions aim to empower clients with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to effectively support life challenges, difficult events and well-being. Clients can gain a deeper understanding of behaviours that no longer serve the individual, that once were reflexive to cope. The counselling process is tailored to each client's specific situation, addressing concerns such as anxiety/depression, relational concerns, etc. and use empirically-based approaches, from CBT, DBT, or mindfulness to Expressive Therapy.
Counselling ~ Brainspotting Sessions
For clients coping with complex trauma (early life traumas, (C)PTSD, abuse, addiction, etc.) - or those who are not comfortable ‘speaking to a therapist’ about internal struggles - we offer Brainspotting, which is a brain-based treatment, rather than psychological. This approach works with stuck or unprocessed traumatic events stored in the lower brain and the body by directly accessing the central nervous system. Brainspotting is a physiological treatment which has immense psychological, emotional, and physical effects. This unique treatment offers the client the opportunity for rapid trauma healing without reliving or speaking about the trauma.
